I received a fine and I need some advice.?
I received a fine by a sheriff and she marked the fine saying I had no court appearance required and I even asked to make sure and she said that I didn't have to go. so I wait a week and I go up to pay the fine at the courthouse, and they said that I have to go to court for it even though my ticket says otherwise. can I fight this in any way?

There is nothing to fight. It is either an offense that, by law, has a mandatory court appearance or it is not. Either the deputy or the clerk was mistaken but if they will not accept the fine, you have no choice but to go to court. Did you ask the clerk why you cannot pay the fine?

I'd be inclined to attend court..just to be on the safe side. You will get the opportunity to state your case, & show that the ticket says you were not required to attend court, yet the staff at the courthouse would not accept your fine payment as they believe you must attend court. Let the judge decide what to do with the ticket. If indeed you are required to attend court, & you don't...that could land you in a little more hot water.
Again, be on the safe side...go to court.
