13 year old who only likes to play video games...please help?

I'm his grandma and I need a good idea for his birthday present. What would a kid like that could divert his attention away from Nintendo? Thinking a chess set, musical instrument, any ideas, anyone?

I understand that there are some new electronic music instrument that do not take much ability and that are not too different from video games. But I was actually thinking about art like drawing or painting Some kids have really ability in that directions. You would probably have a better idea!

Get him something he can build-- that's what my grandma does outside of video games. Make sure it's advanced enough for his age. Lego sets, or maybe a birdhouse. Or you could get him something to do with sports. Or a book. Hope this helps! (:

Maybe a monopoly game would be a fun game!

Money. Or just throw him a pool party that's what I'm doing for my bday. Or a party like PROJECT X
