Windows Vista to 7?

I have the super outdated Windows vista an my PC, if I were to upgrade to 7, would all my programs (Photoshop, skype, itunes, etc.) be able to function properly? Would anything be removed?

If you go with a corresponding version of Windows 7 from what you had with Vista, it keeps your files, settings, and programs from Windows Vista in place. If you do a "custom" upgrade, it doesn't preserve your files, programs, or settings, and your personal files and programs would need to be backed up and re-installed after the upgrade.

No I don't think so. That only works with 7 to windows 8 I think.

Just back it up to an external hard drive.

Ps. Do not get windows 8 under any circumstances.

  • If you upgrade, your software won't be affected. If you install fresh copy your files will be deleted.

if you did an update it should be ok but always backup before you do that anyways.
