Was the California 3 strikes law repealed?
I've searched online but not finding definitive answers just old petitions and data. Any updated info is appreciated.

I have no idea why anybody would think that the 3-strikes law was not implemented. There are MANY prisoners serving 25-to-life sentences under the law. However, the law was considerably modified by Proposition 36 in 2012.

No, but the definition of which crimes "are" or "may be" treated as a strike for the purposes of a 'three strikes' sentence was changed in 2012.
The first version was written in such a way that someone who committed a misdemeanor theft when he already had two convictions - even if they were also misdemeanors - could find that California's law that allows a DA to charge "Petty with a prior" (1) as a felony meant that he was subject to three strikes and a 25 year sentence.

(1) "Petty with a prior" means misdemeanor petty theft committed by someone with a prior misdemeanor theft conviction. Under CA law the second misdemeanor can be charged as a felony.

The 3 strikes law was really just a "skull screw" for alot of immates to scare the immates in a better rehabilitation ---in reality--the state of california does not have the cash or space to implement the law--I'm sure their are examples , but on the whole , its a "mind screw". BUT- its also means the person who got "3 strikes" are on parole for the rest of their life--except a pardon from a governor etc.--which is a long leash.
