is it true that there are few atheists in fox holes?

I've seen a quote from many that prison inmates are 96 percent religious people. If 20% of them are lying atheists (very likely actually more) then there are a disproportionate amount of atheists in prison.

Having trouble with moral values and integrity much?

I like how you conveniently "forget" about the 80% of people who are theists, even if your numbers were correct. You see, I know you probably can't count to 100 but out of 100...80 is a bigger number than 20.

Having trouble with moral values and integrity much? If theists are so moral why are they going to prison at all?

Atheism is under reported, there are far more atheists than the number of atheists who would tick the "atheist" box in a survey.

Disproportion to the population is pretty irrelevant because if theism is supposed to make you a moral person then there shouldn't be so many theists in prison. The fact that prisons are might be a representation of the the greater population is evidence that shows that morality has nothing to do with religious belief.

There is absolutely no need to lie you're an atheist in prison. Heres why:

    - Religion is barely ever talked about in prison

    - Lying you're not an atheist in prison is achieving close to nothing

Oh, by the way, WHERE is the evidence & proof that most atheists in prison are lying to be religious? SERIOUSLY. That's like me going to a prison, seing a lot of Arabians and saying 'well if, lets say 50% of them have bombs strapped to themselves they have no moral values and will try to blow me up' it's just very stupid and theoretical. You are making a MASSIVE statement at the last sentence in your question JUST by theoretical hypothesis's.

Of course there are no atheists in foxholes they are out doing what they are paid to do defending the country. The foxholes are all full of Christians praying for the invisible friend to save them!

Prison numbers are not a claim by atheists but published data by the government!

The Government statistics show that Christians are vastly over represented in prisons for sexual, violent and fraudulent crime whilst year on year government figures show atheists make up only 2% of the prison population!

Source(s): It is counterproductive to try to claim to be Christian since the parole board check carefully the prisoners previous history and anyone claiming to have converted to Chrsitianity is viewed with such suspicion it usually hampers there attempt to achieve parole!

"If 20% of them are lying atheists..."

So you're just making up statistics now...how dishonest of you.

"Having trouble with morals and integrity much?"

Says the one who pulled a statistic out of his a$$. If there's anyone who is lacking integrity, it's yourself.

    1. Your recent account creation makes me suspicious of this question's motive

    2. There are *all kinds* of people in fox holes. Trust me, when you're being fired at, you don't care what your brother next to you believes in his personal life

I would agree only because it's usually only the religious, that think everything can be cured by killing, war, and destruction. Most atheists will find a peaceful solution to problems and avoid being in foxholes.

    "very likely actually more"

Based on what statistics do you use to back that up? Or are you just making crap up again?

You can not prove they are lying. So that means 96% of inmates are religious.

There may or may not be atheists in fox holes, but I know for a fact that there were none in the KKK.

People do seek early parole by claiming conversion and a changed life. Many are sincere. I have never heard of anyone seeking early parole by claiming to be atheist and I have done considerable work in circles of accountability with prisoners.
