Maths C helpp! Square roots?!?

How do you find the exact value of this? √(7 - √(15 + √(7 - √(15

Also how do you find x and y? .. √x + √y = √8+√(15 + √60

Please leave an explanation! I really need to understand this for my exam! :)

    I am not sure of what you are seeking in these questions - the formulation is not what I am used to.

    If in the first question you mean: Evaluate √(7) - √(15) + √(7) - √(15), then you treat these surds like any other number, and the answer is 2√7-2√15

    The second equation is a curve in a plane. It is easier to understand if we transform it to a straight line. Let X = √x and Y = √y

    Also note √8 =2√2, and √60 = 2√15

    So the equation becomes Y=-X + 2√2+ 3√15
