King Midas and the Golden Touch in Africa?

If King Midas is a Greek myth folktale/fable, why does the episode "King Midas and the Golden Touch" of the show Happily Ever After on HBO show King Midas Black and taking place in Africa?

    Because its a TV show in which the writers take liberties to adapt their story so the TV audience like the show.

    You are right in one thing, its a greek myth, but Midas was a king in Frigia, which was located in todays Turkey.

    As you can see Midas was wrongly placed in Africa by the tv show, and badly located in Greece by presuming he was a Greek myth.
