When did you start cutting your own hair?..instead of going to a barber. And if you do, what is your electric razor of choice?

In 1977 I bought a comb a trim it has two razor blades on one side and one on the other side. I haven't been to a barber since. I just wish my hair would fall out on the sides instead of on the top.

I've never had really long hair so when I decided my hair had nothing to do with my good looks, I bought a Wahl hair grooming kit complete with guides for length control. At 80, I still have a full head of hair which I've decided looks best when cut medium short. Since I'm the only one that cares what my hairdo looks like, I'm satisfied and the couple hundred bucks I save each year is better spent elsewhere.

I stopped going to barber shops in 2001. I have had a beard since 1959. I don't have, or use an electric razor.

I'm female, always had shoulder length hair and always cut or trim my hair, maybe for 55 years. Using scissors and used to give myself the bubble cut which is 7inches all over. Became a beautician years ago. At Sally's there are Weck hair cutting tools for the male haircut (ask your questions there), but they're also in Walmart now.

I am a woman. I have often been to get a nice style only to come out and get Ann Landers cut. So I decided to cut my own hair with scissors. Some Salons were in France by some renown hair stylist. Same thing, did not get what I wanted but paid a fortune.

Also used clippers when I wanted my hair real short.

    Mostly with scissors.

I have been cutting my own hair for about fifty years. Ever since I realized that using two mirrors in conjunction, I can see everything that a barber can see..

But I have always worn my hair in the style of Jesus Christ, so there's not much cutting to be done anyway. (Jesus as he is seen in Medieval Dutch paintings, in which, naturally, he is depicted as a Dutchman.)

I still go to a barber, maybe every 5 or 6 weeks, and I'm 65.

I have cut my own hair for years with just a scissors. I may go every couple of years just to have it cut evenly, but I don't really care. As long as it's not on my neck in the summer, it's fine. When it gets longer, I just chop it off. My hair is straight and very fine so it's easy to cut. Hubby doesn't get his hair cut from November to May because he's outside a lot, and right about now he looks like Albert Einstein when he takes his baseball cap off. It's kind of cute, actually, but when May gets here he will have it cut short again.

I just let my hair grow for like a year and then I buzz it off with my Conair, same every year, way cheaper than going to the barber

I still go to a barber regularly. When I was working, I'd go once every two weeks. Since retiring, it is usually about once a month.
