    Sure you can, but you both must communicate and compromise with each other. Neither one of you can be selfish in a marriage. A marriage without comprise or communication may work for a while but it won't last because one of you will get fed up.

    Having self time is very important if that is what you are speaking of however living as just roommates will create a failed marriage. It is important to grow together!
