Do I NEED a ScubaPro Meridian Dive Computer?
I am a brand new diver and have a few friends helping me out. Although I do have one asking if I want to buy his Dive computer for $275, its a ScubaPro Meridian dive computer, which retails for $600ish. He is being a friend and selling it at a discount, still under warrenty also. So my question is should I as a new beginner diver buy it off him? Will I make use of it? He has dived for a while and uses the freedive and scuba features on it, I would be just using the scuba feature. So is it smart to buy it for $275 or should I buy another dive computer, maybe a simpler one? or do they really not get that much cheaper than 275 regardless?
ANY HELP IS AWESOME! I am just getting certified and dont really know everything to get or obtain. Thanks
Or should I just stick to the typical console computer? and have no real need for a watch at this time?

You could take it to a dive shop and have them check it out. Make sure there is nothing wrong with it and that it really is a good deal. Make sure he has or you can get the owner's manual.
Do you already have a console dive computer? If you do, one is enough for now. If you don't, get it checked out and go for it.
Unless you really have the money to burn though you may want to take a pass and spend the money on a couple of dive trips instead.

You do not need a dive computer to dive. However, it will help.
Should you buy his? That is something that you need to figure out.
Personally, I would not buy a used anything for something I am new at.
