Hard, high mileage tires can kick up a roar.
You might need to have your tires' alignment and
balance checked.
The softer the tire, the quieter and more comfortable the ride.
Good brands give just as good mileage and last
as long (depending on the brand)
Tire stores and dealers tend to over-inflate tires.
(30 lbs pressure per tire is an ideal compromise)
Try to find a tire shop that balances the tires while
they remain on the car.
I've had much better results this way than removing the tires
and carrying them to a machine to balance.
If you have the same volume roar when driving
slow, this could be the muffler, driveshaft, or some
other mechanical malady.
You would need to have a good dealer check it out.
