Is MEPS trustworthy with the ASVAB?

I took the ASVAB and passed, but my scores weren't high enough for the MOS I wanted (medic specialist and cryptology). I took it again and I scored a 14 and I was shocked because I did study really hard. The third time I took it I scored 23 and I was more shocked because I had spent 4 months studying plus I got a tutor. I took tests online that simulate the asvab and I did good and I did super good in all of my tutor practice tests. Everyone I've met who passed the ASVAB and took it again 2 and 3 times to score higher for a specific MOS NEVER again passed the test.

I bought the asvab flash cards, the asvab for dummies and the kaplan study guide and studied them for months.

Does someone knows if MEPS makes the people who took the ASVAB again after they had passed fail the test? I am just wondering since I studied so hard plus I am good at word knowledge, general science and arithmetics and all those other people too.

Can someone explain me why does this happen and if it has happened to you? Did you finally passed?

Thanks!!

So you are "good at word knowledge...and arithmetics"? I think I see the problem. I don't mean to be rude but I've always found studying for standardized IQ type tests to be a waste of time, they are tests of your general knowledge base and "studying" isn't really going to move the needle much if at all. My advice if you want to pass it is go take an Alg I adult class or maybe a community college remedial pre college algebra course and start reading the classics...Dickens is a good place to start....also consider a physics class or even just a physical science class at your local community college.

One answer could be that the practice tests are written at an 8th grade level and the MEPS ASVAB is written at a 12th grade level. But hell it could be luck I had a friend who got a 75 the first time and the second he got a 11

its been awhile, so i cant remember but if they allow scrap paper for the math portion just write down the question and your answer than enter them later in wolframalpha.com compare that to your scores and youll know for sure if they are skewing grades
