20% tips bogus?

Are people more greedy or do they deserve more money just for doing the same job? Very Very Very rarely does someone do an extra 20% worth of work in my eyes, but from what I'm reading if someone does an adequete job they deserve 20% and no less.

I prefer 10% or less, 10% if they do a good job and nothing if they don't, why should we just give them money for doing their job?

They sould make a wage. It is the employers job to pay them! Tips are for special service or extra good service. That is how they started and what they were for in the beginning. If you rode up on horse you tied it to the hourse hitch. If you wanted it stabled like a rainy day. You tipped to have it stabled and such. Extra care you ask for not there employer. That needs to return! Then it was if they had a table cloth you tipped 5%. Fancy place. If it was a linen table cloth 10%, And if it had your family's checks on it. Maffia here. You tipped 15% as it was family you were conected with. It has got out of hand. It is the employer that needs to set the wage to get the quality of help they need. Not your job to bribe the help to move or do any work at all. It is the employers duty to train his help tohis standards in his place of business. Not yours to pay them to be trained by you. On how to work. So I say end tipping unless you have special orders or needs. Beyond there normal work duties. Prices go up fine. You know the price when you set down. You can always leave you do not like it. If they requre a tip bring a pen and write them one on the back of the bill. Study up on some good ones. Add some humor to there life. A smile goes a long way they say.
