Can MEPS be trusted with the ASVAB scores?? How can be possible to score high and then ridiculously low?
I took the ASVAB and passed, but my scores weren't high enough for the MOS I wanted (medic specialist and cryptology). I took it again and I scored a 14 and I was shocked because I did study really hard. The third time I took it I scored 23 and I was more shocked because I had spent 4 months studying plus I got a tutor. I took tests online that simulate the asvab and I did good and I did super good in all of my tutor practice tests. Everyone I've met who passed the ASVAB and took it again 2 and 3 times to score higher for a specific MOS NEVER again passed the test.
I've met people who scored 50 and above the first time and then retested and scored a 7!! I just cant believe someone can possibly score that low in a 3 hour test after they had score high the first time.
I bought the asvab flash cards, the asvab for dummies and the kaplan study guide and studied them for months.
Does someone knows if MEPS makes the people who took the ASVAB again after they had passed fail the test? I am just wondering since I studied so hard plus I am good at word knowledge, general science and arithmetics.
Can someone explain me why does this happen and if it has happened to you? Did you finally passed?
Is this happening because MEPS considers it cheating because we shouldn't retest to score higher for a specific MOS?
Thanks!!
No, this is not a bogus post!! I am frustrated since I cannot comprehend how can someone pass the test without studying and then after studying a lot do a retest and fail with a ridiculously low score. I know the material, its not like I went there without knowing. I found the test super easy and yet I failed it. Not only me, but everyone who retested just to score higher for a specific MOS after they had pass the first time
Well, for someone who learned 2 languages before English and never went to school in the states I think my grammar is damn good for now. So before assuming I am just some kid who didn't learn proper English grammar in school ask yourself how good could you communicate in another language in only a year. Perhaps you cant even learn yours correctly.....

This seems like a bogus post. From how you write you don't sound stupid at all- not stupid enough to get those kinds of scores. I honestly don't think I'm that smart and I didn't study at all for the ASVAB yet I got an 87. People who get a 7 are really, really stupid. That means they can't hardly read. For you to have studied that long and got those scores I either think you're just unfit for duty or this is a joke question. I'm assuming the latter based on your grammar.

Yes MEPS can be trusted. This just means you don't know the ASVAB material very well. Or, you just marked the wrong answers. Did you accidentally skip a question?
Military tests are actually pretty hard.

well maybe Meps scored your test wrong the first time
and the 2nd and 3rd test are your true measure of intelligence
ever think about that ?
2. your recruiter told you, if you retake the test, the new score is the only score that counted
so you could have enlisted already in a different mos
but you didn't listen

There is absolutely no reason for the powers that be to manipulate ASVAB scores.
If you know your sh*t so well, then take it again.

There is no reason to fiddle with the scores. If you got a 14 that means you slightly above dead.

the study guides did mention, you should study the parts, where your possible jobs are. If you studied everything it might be too much.
