Why does it takes me 10 to 15 times to press the remote control before the garage door is opned?

I have moved in my new house about a month now and I have difficult time opening my garage door even at close range. I have to press it many times before it opens. Is it because of frequency blockage? Please share. Thanks you in advance.

Check the small antenna wire that is attached to the inside power unit on the ceiling. The wire has to be hanging straight down. Make sure the wire hasn't been taped up out of the way or cut off. Also make sure the wire hasn't been added on to lengthwise to make it longer. It should be about 18 to 24 inches long.

Batteries are the top suspect. Your hand-held unit signal is getting weak and your opener often can't get it. Invest in a battery before you do anything else.

Could be an old battery in your remote OR the switch could be getting dirty.

Disassemble it and use a Q-tip to clean the contact pad. Use rubbing alcohol.

My TV remote does the same thing and cleaning it makes it work great for a year or so. Then they need to be cleaned again.

    Hope this helps.
