    You're mocking believers, aren't you?

    Do consider this:

This part: "spiritual individuals are favored by natural selection because they are provided with an innate sense of optimism, the latter producing positive effects at either a physical or psychological level" has been corroborated recently. A study found that the brain of believers has a natural protection against depression.

Being brainwashed as a child is sad for the person brainwashing you. Staying brainwashed as an adult is sad for you. Both are equally bad.

Being brainwashed as a child definitely. If you're really indoctrinated then staying brainwashed or not isn't that much of a choice. they are probably going to stay that way because it is what they have grown up being told is true.

    Staying brainwashed as an adult.

If you are brainwashed as a kid, then I feel sorry for you, but if you become an adult ranting on and on about fairy tales, and then attempting to claim you have "free will" when all you are really doing is regurgitating the same nonsense your pastor told you 30 years ago, then your life is just sad. Period.
