With iOS, Apple has created the most secure operating system extensively available on desktops or mobile devices. Six years and 300 million units sold after the first iPhone were released; there has never been a proven case of iOS malware that infected non-jailbroken devices. Android remains less secure than iOS as a result of its core design philosophy: Google wants to empower users as much as possible, but that very freedom makes it easier for hackers and malicious software to infiltrate your system.

Well, back when a Mac or apple mostly had your personal pictures, edited videos, some music files and useless downoaded stuff like a fake naked picture of Alyssa Milano hackers had no interest in the I-Life stuff stuck on there. On the other hand Goernments, Corporations, businesses and Banks use primarily a windows environment which is why more trojan horses, keyloggers, and snoopware is written for windows os

Now,however, since Iphones and ipads handle banking information, does business transactions and holds sensitive data many of the modern breeches leading to personal Identity theft and financial looting is from information stolen from APPLE devices because of the gappling holes apple fanboys like to pretend dont exist (we are talking hackability, not viruses and malware)

Androids have antivirus programs and firewall apps and root level ability to shut off its port access because it is built on the same kernels hackers use themselves.......doesn't mean the average user knows how to secure their android device at root level though, but it has the potential to be more secured then a Apple deice as suh apps and ability is nill to none for APPLE users that need to just trust their device is safe cause Apple told them it is so

yes and no. there's lots of malware for android floating around. this is a downside of an open platform; iOS doesn't have any because all downloads must come from the app store, which apple approves (but the lack of third-party sources and apple's forceful "Do what I say, not what you want" attitude with their devices is why I will never own an apple product). but you can avoid most it with common sense. stick to Google Play when you can, and if a site looks shady, don't download apps from it. it's unarguably more secure than windows 8, though. most of the world's viruses target windows so, security-wise, you're better off using android. as for information safety, it's dubious. apple can basically have all of your data just by you using an iDevice, microsoft wants you to use a microsoft account just to do things like checking your email (even if you use a different email provider like gmail, they basically link your gmail/microsoft accounts) which can lead to security concerns. not really sure about blackberry, but android, you have the option of putting your data on google's servers or not. however, you must use a google account to download from the official app repository (Google Play) I hate mobile OS's because of the "cloud" aspect. there's this mentality going around that you can't own and be the sole holder of all of your data anymore.

Android is full of viruses, see below:

    ----

F-Secure, an anti-virus software producer, has released a report that details the saturation of malware content in mobile devices, and it turns out, Android platform was responsible for a whopping 79 percent of all malware intrusions in 2012. Android was also host to 96 percent of the intrusions in the fourth quarter alone.

Like windows the android os is made to work on many different phone configurations. Apple's ios is made to work on iPhones and ipads they specs are the same across the board.

  • Apple is much better in security, but it has other problems like account more problems MORE, but i like Android because its easy, i have Galaxy S3 And Note 3 they are both awesome, also for security reasons i downloaded avast for them, and i "Rooted" my S3 now i play for free and do more stuff.

    Good Luck :D

Same thing is with Apple ios.
