poetry contest entry advice?

I have two poems to choose from. The first entitled "For an Artist Battling Depression" is frankly geared toward an academic audience.

The other poem is a simple poem about my niece at makes people laugh when I do it at readings.

Which would you reccommend?

    I suggest you enter both. Some contests charge $10 for one poem, and upto $5 for a second poem.

    I think, that's reasonable.

    Not knowing either poem it's a bit difficult to judge. I'm not sure a poem about depressive angst would be the best choice. Of course we don't know what the contest involves
