    4(1.02)^x = 3(1.03)^x

    take log of both sides and apply properties of logs to expand:

    log4 + xlog(1.02) = log3 + xlog(1.03)

    terms with x on the left, others on the right:

    xlog(1.02) - xlog(1.03) = log3 - log4

    factor out the x:

    x(log1.02 - log1.03) = log3 - log4

    divide:

    x = (log3 - log4) / (log1.02 - log1.03)

    calculate:

    x ≈ 29.4872

    that's it! ;)
