Did Satan try to stop Jesus from being killed?

After all, he knew if Jesus died sinless Satan's days would be numbered.

The prophecy goes: "He [Jesus] will crush your [Satan's] head, and you [Satan] will strike him [Jesus] in the heel." (Genesis 3:15) So, from the beginning of Satan's rebellion the judgment was announced. It was clear that eventually Satan has to die because what he has done. So, Satan knew there's no way out from his destiny he had selected while he started to rebel against God. He tried and tries to do as much as damage possible before he dies. Throughout Jesus' ministry Jesus was in danger. Satan used human agents to oppose Jesus, trying either to cause him to stumble or to kill him.

Ya know I never heard this question before...But the answer is No.

    And here's why.

Are you aware that Satan tried to get Jesus to sin three times? Three times he tried to get Jesus to compromise his faith. Once he asked him to turn some rocks into loaves of bread, once to test God and jump off a tall temple, and the last one was he offered all the kingdoms of the world for just one act of worship to him.

Believe it or not...it was not in Satan's best interest for Jesus to die. Because Jesus was going to die faithfully to Jehovah God. Proving that a perfect person can live their whole life remaining obedient to God. Remember the last perfect person Satan got to sin? That was Adam and Eve. But he got them to sin. Jesus did not sin while he was on the Earth. Satan wanted Jesus to fail. Fail mankind, fail God...and then let him die.. as some sort of Vain failed martyr no better than anyone else. But he didn't. He died faithfully. So Satan was the failure.

According to the Bible Satan seems to have a job tempting and testing people.

    In Matthew 16:23

"Jesus turned and said to Peter, 'Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.' "

So that could be Satan trying to tempt Jesus to avoid getting crucified by putting words in the mouth of Peter, thereby potentially turning the save-the-world-plan into a flop.

Satan didn't know, had he known he would have tried to keep Jesus alive.

This whole "Satan" idea is a farce, to put it kindly. Of course, the rest of Christianity makes no more sense.
