The guy may have suddenly realized that a relationship with you won't work and to save himself and you the pain, he made a silly decision all by himself to avoid you.

Maybe he still likes you and doesn't know how to act around you?

He may have seen you talking or hanging out with another guy and he got pissed?

He met another girl he is interested in and he is confused about his feelings?

He may have been laughed at for liking you?

You're so awesome that you're making him fall head over heels for you and he thought he was losing his mind, so he wanted some space? XD lol

His parents said no dating?

You can always confront him. If you're too shy or for whatever reason, you can do it through text. A guy behind screen can be different.

1. He used to have some feelings, now he doesn't and he doesn't want to lead you on

2. He likes you and is beginning to feel an incontinence between the way he feels/wants to acts, and the way he can actually act. For example, he might want to like kiss you, but he can't so he feels insecure and is trying to hide his feelings.

3. He doesn't realize how much you liked talking to him. Maybe you didn't react to it (did you engage int he convo back? did you laugh? flirt back?) so maybe he just felt like it didn't make a difference

4. Maybe it's just because he's a guy and does stuff and doesn't even know why he does it (very possible, actually)

5. Maybe you don't start the conversation enough so he doesn't want to put all the effort on him?

But often, if there is a change in behavior, something changed in his thinking.

Maybe he was disappointed when you guys started talking together, did you joke back or conversate with him? If yes and he seemed to have interest when talking to you then maybe he thinks it's your turn to make a move. He probably doesn't want to seem so desperate and be the one doing all the approaching.
