Tailbone pain when sitting down or applying pressure?

So, my tailbone has been hurting pretty badly for about 7 months. Everytime I sit down, I have to make sure that I'm sitting upright or leaning a bit forward or else it starts to hurt. I'll even sit on one leg just to levitate it from the seat. I didn't fall on it, (at least that I know of.) Whenever I rub on it, it aches. I'm so unsure of what it could be, and I'm desperate for an answer/solution. Please help! Thanks so much.

I have had the same thing for 2 years. I know exactly how you feel, it is extremely painful especially if you have a job or are a student and have to do a lot of sitting. Go to a bone doctor and have it checked out. I did that and i got a x-ray and it turned out I have a swollen joint from an injury 2 years ago and because I haven't treated it, it hasn't gone away! Now i am doing a lot of stretching of the hamstrings (which will help) and putting a topical anti-inflammatory medication. I am also using a donut whenever I sit to relieve pressure. I hope this helps! Good Luck and see you doctor as soon as you can :)
