Those aren't hackers. Hackers are people who break into other people's accounts. It also has other meanings that aren't inappropriate, but hacking into people's accounts is what most people think of when describing a hacker.
But in regard to people who ask boring questions on here... I don't think it's so much that they don't have a life off the computer as a need for attention... even if it's negative attention. Those people are probably just as annoying off the computer.
Think about it though... lots of people are guilty of it now and then... probably due to boredom. Like this question, you have to admit it's not exactly invigorating.
