What should distance between flame of bunsen burner and bottom of beaker be?
What should the average distance between the flame of the bunsen burner and the bottom of the beaker be?
I ask this because I received my bunsen burner and tripod stand and the top of the bunsen burner almost touches the beaker (or the gauze in this case). Like there is not space for the flame.

I would say a couple of centimetres. The pale blue cone at the heart of the Bunsen flame should be spreading on the gauze.
