  • What should distance between flame of bunsen burner and bottom of beaker be?

What should the average distance between the flame of the bunsen burner and the bottom of the beaker be?

I ask this because I received my bunsen burner and tripod stand and the top of the bunsen burner almost touches the beaker (or the gauze in this case). Like there is not space for the flame.

  • Spiderlings not eating. Am I doing something wrong?

I got a few spiderlings about a month ago (they are about 2 months old now) and they haven't eaten since. One of them molted twice already but not eaten.

I keep the humidity up and keep them on a heating pad. (It is winter now here) Am I doing something wrong or is this normal?

    Please help, thank you.

  • What is the next best thing to Triphasil?

I have been on Triphasil for a good number of years now and have not suffered any side effects physically. However I do think it may be affecting my moods a little and was thinking about changing to something else.

What can you recommend that is in the same class? Did you change from Triphasil and to what and does it work for you?

(It was recommended Yazz (?) but it does not appeal to me at all - too much negative feed back).

Your suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

  • Chameleon eggs: can you tell if they are fertile?

I want to know if one can tell if chameleon eggs are fertile or not by visual inspection.

The reason why I ask is my chameleon is gravid but I only have had her for a short while and am not sure if she was with a male or not. I understand that chameleons can produce eggs without a male around but then of course these eggs would not be fertile.

I don't want to throw the eggs out only to find out they could have been little ones there...thanks.

  • What to feed an adult bearded dragon?

I am getting an adult bearded dragon and would need to know what I can feed him. I know that adult bearded dragons eat more greens than crickets but I also hear that some plants are not good for them like lettuce which has no nutritional value and then the poisonous ones which I'm not sure about.

Please give me a list of what you can feed your dragon and also what veggies and do they need to be raw or cooked?

    Thanks!

  • How long to erase all content and settings on iPhone 4 16G?

I got a second hand iPhone 4, 16G (in great condition). Before I took it off the person they went into Settings, General, Reset, Erase All Content and Settings. I'm happy with this because naturally I don't want this persons info on my phone however it has been taking forever to clear.

The screen is blank with only the little 'waiting' circle/timer in the middle turning. It has been doing this since last night (about 18 hours now).

I want to know how long it would take if the phone was completely full of info (16G)? Thanks.

  • Lump in chameleons throat...what could it be?

My chameleon seems to have developed a lump under her chin. She also is not able to fully extend her tongue, this I noticed when I fed her and she tried to shoot her tongue out to get the cricket and it was half as long if not shorter.

Has anyone had this experience with their chameleon or know what this could be...? Thanks.

  • I need some serious motivation for my studies, any ideas?

Ok, this is the first time I have studied since school (about 15 years). I thought that after a bit I will eventually get into it but oh no, it's just not happening.

Granted there is a lot of stress in my life with my dad being seriously ill and some other stuff, but I don't want that to be a reason/excuse. It's distance learning too so no teachers looming over my shoulder lol.

Do you have any tips for me on how to get motivated and perhaps some study tips too, thanks :-)

  • Antibiotics and menstrual cycle...?

I finished my cycle about a week ago and then came down with the flu. I went to the doc and he gave me a 3 day course of Zithromax antibiotics.

As I'm on birthcontol pills, the doc told me to carry on with them but use extra protection. I decided to not take them (as usual when I'm taking atibiotics).

I finished the 3 day course and 3 days later started my cycle again. It's a little heavier than normal flow and a brighter red.

Do you think this is ok? Tell me about your exeriences. I'm wondering if the Zithromax in particular has anything to do with this. Thanks.

  • What are some really good crime novel authors?

I'm looking for some really good authors of crime/thriller/mystery novels. It has been suggested to read Patricia Cornwell's books and they are super great. As well as Jeffery Deaver which are also very good.

What other authors in crime novels can you suggest that you have thoroughly enjoyed, thanks.

  • What can one wear with a very dark brown pair of casual pants?

I have a pair of pants that are very casual and dark brown and super comfortable. And they are pretty heavy type of material so I would wear them in winter or cold days.

My question is what shoes do I wear with these pants - colour and style?

    Thanks

  • Chameleon's tongue not extending all the way...?

I fed my chameleon two nights ago and noticed that she didn't extend her tongue all the way out when reaching for the cricket, like she normally does.

At first I thought nothing of it but it happened all the way through her feeding. It happened again last night.

This is a first in the 7 months that I've had her.

Is this normal or do I need to worry? Am I doing something wrong, is there an perhaps an underlining issue and what can I do to sort it out?

    Thanks!

  • Snake still having problems shedding, any advice?

I have a 1 year old red-tailed boa which is as small as a hatchling. I adopted it from a friend who's snake gave birth to little ones with deformities. The poor little thing has no eyes and I have to tube feed him but other than that the vet checked him out and is good and active.

Now Little one has a shedding issue. It's been a week and still the skin has not come off except for around his head. I upped the humidity in his container to the point where serious condensation developed and left that for two days.

I then soaked him for about 10 minutes and let him dry off in his container - nothing.

Yesterday I put him into a small container and soaked him in warmish water for about an hour - still nothing. I then rubbed some olive oil on him and it seemed to help somewhat but it still won't budge.

Has anyone had this problem and/or have any advice before I need to take a trip to the vet? Thanks!!

  • Boa won't shed properly even after soaking, any advice?

I have a red-tailed boa that I rescued from a friend. Long story short, it has a few issues and I have to tube feed it. I've taken him to the vet for a check up and he is healthy enough not be put down.

However the little thing is now trying to shed and is struggling. I can see the skin is loose but just wont come off. I have upped the humidity in his cage, I have soaked him for several days (minutes at a time) and still nothing.

Should I soak him for longer or is there anything I could try before I take the trip to the vet? Thanks.
