What is the trinity and how is the Holy Spirit holier than God, why is God called father if he is supposed to be neither male nor female?

I was wondering on how this works. If the Holy Spirit is the great deity then that means it is gender neutral and is actually the supreme deity over the two Gods the father, and son. God itself denotes a male deity as for its counterpart would be a goddess which isn't found anywhere in the scriptures.

Saying God the father would be the one who created all things knowing there is a Holy Spirit puts a damper on the purpose of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus said worship the father in spirit, for God is spirit. Jesus reiterates God is male, but the Holy Spirit is gender neutral. Doesn't this mean the Holy Spirit is the real creator (father) of everything.

Update:

@Four Blood Moons that's a pretty lazy comment. And if that's the case then there are essentially 4 deities, Trinity, Holy Spirit, Father God, and Jesus. Trinity resides in the Holy Spirit, God and Jesus and makes up a fourth counterpart holding the 3 together.

Anthropomorphism is often the way of the Bible, it means the attribution of human characteristics or behavior to a god, animal, or an object. This is why God is often attributed to the Father or the Son. This gives equality between the two and especially in the 1st century.

The Trinity is a way of explaining the full relationship we were created for in complete bliss! Let me explain: God is everlasting, never had a beginning or an end. When God says that he loves, who did he love before the creation of angels and humans? When God says he passionate and affectionate, who was he sharing that with before the creation?

He was sharing it with the Holy Spirit and the Son, it's the same all three ways... But if someone says there's no Trinity like the JW's, Muslims, or Mormon. Then they would have to explain the relationship. God did not need to create humans in order to share his love and other attributes since he's eternal. In other words, he did not need to create us because he was ALREADY sharing the love with the Son and Holy Spirit. If he did not share it with them and he's eternal, then that would make God a dependent God and that's not the God of the Bible.

You are jumping to conclusions and creating your own interpretations of things. The Holy Spirit is NOT holier than God. Where did you get that?

God is the Father as he is the un-sourced source. Both Jesus and the Holy Spirit are sourced sources, from God the Father.

I won't get into a huge wall of text here, but the cash-value is this: Yes, God does not have a gender. But he is called a father and is referred to as "he" because of what the Judeo-Christian religions refer to how God operates. He operates as to how men are expected to operate in the Judeo-Christian religions. Which is to say that men are expected to be more giving while women are expected to be more accepting. Men are expected to provide. Men are expected to lay their lives down for their wives and families while women are expected to hold their families close and nurture.

If you think about it these roles are not that much different from each other; but there is a subtle difference. Enough so that we can say that God is the Father and not the mother.

Although not from any Christian doctrine, there are some theologians that would agree that the Holy Spirit is more female than male. Maybe so. But just like God is gender-neutral, though he is the Father, the Holy Spirit is gender-neutral despite any way you describe him/her.

The Holy Spirit is God's Spirit, and is a member of the Godhead because the Father, the Creator sends Him to be omnipresent in the lives of His creation. The Son is the firstborn of all creation, and through Him, the Father created the universe, and that's why the Son is called the Word of God...His word alone creates.

The Son has no mother, only His Father, so you know..self-explanatory.

This is a good source to learn about the works of the Holy Spirit, and His relationship as a member of the Godhead, to the Father and to the Son.

The Holy Trinity of God. Is The Father, The Son, and The Holy Ghost. (Spirit)

In Genesis God tells us that He created Man in His image, Male first and then Female or Woman. Note He said Male FIRST.

    Thus God The Father.

Hollisa Alewine has written and teaches the definitive study on the Ruach HaKodesh (Spirit the Set Apart [The Holy]), hours long studies.

In part she points out that in the Tanakh -Old Testament- the attributes of the Spirit of God ( wisdom, counsel, knowledge...) are referred to as women. The Spirit is the feminine aspect of God.

Feminine and Masculine characteristics are part of the Trinity (the entirety of God). All humans have them both, in varying degrees, as well.

The word female refers to one part of the physical reproductive mechanism the other being male.

    Trinity is one in three.

One entity is fragmented to represent three aspects of the entity.

Such belief is like life in a fast lane, it can be overwhelming at times, when it does, takes some time out and relax your mind.

Let go all your worries and put trust in your self-confidence.

I am sure that you know that everything happens for a reason, but sometimes one wishes what that reason was.

In the words of Micheal Paul Kovich - No Meek Messiah :

" Most religions represent artless attempts at philosophy and science embracing superstitions, ancient guessworks and myths banded together by the crazy of faith."

The Trinity: One Being in three distinct persons.

Before creation, the Trinity is simply about ONE God who is self aware in that God knows Himself and “likes” this knowledge about Himself. It is similar to you and I seeing ourselves in a mirror and liking what we see. But this mirror & reflection of us exists separate from us since we are created. However, I said “similar” since, God, unlike you and me, has no created mirror to do it, but “sees” (humanly speaking) only God who is still only Himself. God IS the reflection of Himself. Hence, God “sees” Himself only by the knowledge (intellect) God has of Himself as being self aware. In God this self aware intimate knowledge of Himself is still God, and the result of any ability of God to react (will/love) to this knowledge of Himself is also God. You see, there is nothing created (mirrors) to reflect the knowledge that God has of Himself. Hence, God IS His Own intimate thoughts (intellect) & actions (will) of Himself. Before creation, there is nothing in existence except God. So if God, so to speak (humanly speaking), looks around to “see” anything, all that God can “see” is Himself. There is only God to “see”. There is only God to know & love (self aware). But God, humanly speaking, “sees” Himself only as and IS the reflection of Himself. Hence, God “sees” Himself only by the knowledge (intellect) God has of Himself as being self aware. Now just because God actualizes this activity of knowing (projecting an intimate image of Himself as a Son) & loving Himself (Holy Spirit) as observable entities in scripture, does not make them any less God, nor does it make them additional Gods since additional Gods cannot be created anyway. Notice one God is not creating these images of Himself, but they are His own self awareness of only one God. God does not create other Gods in the process. Otherwise they cannot be Gods. God IS simply Himself in the form of His own intimate thoughts as reflected in a Son & the Holy Spirit. However, this is a mystery that simply cannot be explained any further. Each is still God since everything about one God IS God. God does not create His own self awareness in this way, but IS still His Own self awareness in this manner. Before creation, God is His Own reflection because there is nothing else to reflect but God. Now just because God later creates something does not change this description of God.
