How do make my HP 6700 wireless printer scan to my Windows 8 PC?

It used to scan but stopped a couple weeks ago. I can print to it just fine (B&W and full color), so I know the wi-fi signal works, but when I ask it to scan a document to the computer, the little display tells me to "Make sure the feature is enabled" and to "Open HP Printer software, Select 'Scanner Actions' and then 'Manage Scan.'" Where do I find the HP Printer software and how do I "make sure the feature is enabled?"

    Wait for HP to update the Printer's Software and Device Drivers to fully SUPPORT W 8. Think they are taking too long? Call them and complain. If everyone did that, they might actually move faster.
