high heart rate during exercise?
I've been working out with my dad lately and have noticed that my heart rate is about 60 higher than his. He is a 45 year old man in good shape is a smoker and drinker and eats not the healthiest I am a 20 year old in good shape about 110 pounds and 5 4 tall. His heart rate while one the bike is about 120 while mine is 180. Is this normal? We go the same pace also.

your maximum heart rate slows down with age. the rule of thumb formula is max heart rate = 220 - age, which is 200 for you and 175 for him.
during aerobic activity.your heart rate is often 80% of your max, or 160 for you and 130 for him.
given that these are all just average number and may vary for individuals and conditioning and exertion, i would say there is nothing shocking here.
a popular question is, on a scale of 1 to 20, how much exertion do you feel during the exercise. you might compare.
