What happens if my pets are seized at the airport?
I have two cats, a dog and a ball python. The mammals are all fully vaccinated and the ball python should have a cities permit shortly. Ive done my very best to do everything Im supposed to do but Im still scared to death that for whatever reason they'll be seized on either the US side or the british side (Im moving to england shortly after I get married next month). As far as I can figure out everybody complies with the PETS scheme just fine but the fact remains Im scared to death. Ive raised one of my cats and my dog since shortly after they were weaned and my other cat came to me at about a year of age. My snake Ive had since she was a juvenile. All my animals are important to me obviously and Ive gone through great pains to make sure everybody has stayed happy and healthy. I dont want to lose anybody and Im afraid to know what would happen to them if by chance any of them are seized. If anybody out there has experience with this kind of thing I really need to know. Thanks

Hi there,
I was about to go to bed but saw your question.
I am a huge pet lover and I can feel your angst and worry.
Also there are services that will handle everything and arrange to fly your pets for you
looks up happy trails travel d0t com
Follow these rules and you and your pets will be fine.
for warm blooded pets:
a microchip
a rabies vaccination (make sure your pet is microchipped first or the vaccination won’t count)
* You must wait 21 days from the date of the rabies vaccination before travelling.
a pet passport or official third country veterinary certificate
tapeworm treatment (for dogs only)
You must also use an authorised carrier and an approved route.
re: your snake
"Pet reptiles
Reptiles are cold-blooded, egg-laying vertebrates, e.g. snakes and tortoises.
There are no animal health import requirements for pet reptiles. These animals can be brought into the UK as long as they are accompanied by their owner and a letter from a vet or the owner stating that the animals are fit and healthy to complete the journey."

And talk to the airline you are flying with to reserve space in the cargo hold for your pets or use a handling service. Of the transatlantic airlines British Airways are known to take more care of pets than the others
