JESUS BEING CREATED MAKES THE TRINITY DOC IMPOSSIBLE:

COLOSSIANS 1:15,16

15 He is the image of the invisible God,+ the firstborn of all creation;+ 16 because by means of him all other things were created in the heavens and on the earth, the things visible and the things invisible,+ whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All other things have been created through him+ and for him.

Trinity is a pagan doctrine stolen from many different pagan religions. It's hard to believe there are so many people who claim to believe the trinity and yet do not understand what they say they believe.

What is the origin of the Trinity doctrine?

The New Encyclopædia Britannica says: “Neither the word Trinity, nor the explicit doctrine as such, appears in the New Testament, nor did Jesus and his followers intend to contradict the Shema in the Old Testament: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord’ (Deut. 6:4). . . . The doctrine developed gradually over several centuries and through many controversies. . . . By the end of the 4th century . . . the doctrine of the Trinity took substantially the form it has maintained ever since.”—(1976), Micropædia, Vol. X, p. 126.

The New Catholic Encyclopedia states: “The formulation ‘one God in three Persons’ was not solidly established, certainly not fully assimilated into Christian life and its profession of faith, prior to the end of the 4th century. But it is precisely this formulation that has first claim to the title the Trinitarian dogma. Among the Apostolic Fathers, there had been nothing even remotely approaching such a mentality or perspective.”—(1967), Vol. XIV, p. 299.

In The Encyclopedia Americana we read: “Christianity derived from Judaism and Judaism was strictly Unitarian [believing that God is one person]. The road which led from Jerusalem to Nicea was scarcely a straight one. Fourth century Trinitarianism did not reflect accurately early Christian teaching regarding the nature of God; it was, on the contrary, a deviation from this teaching.”—(1956), Vol. XXVII, p. 294L.

According to the Nouveau Dictionnaire Universel, “The Platonic trinity, itself merely a rearrangement of older trinities dating back to earlier peoples, appears to be the rational philosophic trinity of attributes that gave birth to the three hypostases or divine persons taught by the Christian churches. . . . This Greek philosopher’s [Plato, fourth century B.C.E.] conception of the divine trinity . . . can be found in all the ancient [pagan] religions.”—(Paris, 1865-1870), edited by M. Lachâtre, Vol. 2, p. 1467.

John L. McKenzie, S.J., in his Dictionary of the Bible, says: “The trinity of persons within the unity of nature is defined in terms of ‘person’ and ‘nature’ which are G[ree]k philosophical terms; actually the terms do not appear in the Bible. The trinitarian definitions arose as the result of long controversies in which these terms and others such as ‘essence’ and ‘substance’ were erroneously applied to God by some theologians.”—(New York, 1965), p. 899.

Even though, as Trinitarians acknowledge, neither the word “Trinity” nor a statement of the Trinitarian dogma is found in the Bible, are the concepts that are embodied in that dogma found there?

(Philippians 2:6) 6 who, although he was existing in God’s form, gave no consideration to a seizure, namely, that he should be equal to God.

(Luke 3:21, 22) 21 Now when all the people were baptized, Jesus also was baptized and, as he was praying, the heaven was opened up 22 and the holy spirit in bodily shape like a dove came down upon him, and a voice came out of heaven: “You are my Son, the beloved; I have approved you.”

If the trinity doctrine is right, Jesus landed on his own shoulder in the form of a dove and then Jesus became a ventriloquist and threw is voice into the heaven and said, “You are my Son, the beloved; I have approved you.” Does that make sense?

I shot this at the Trinity Church in Copenhagen Denmark. Does this look like God?

John 10:30 The Message (MSG) 25-30 Jesus answered, “I told you, but you don’t believe. Everything I have done has been authorized by my Father, actions that speak louder than words. You don’t believe because you’re not my sheep. My sheep recognize my voice. I know them, and they follow me. I give them real and eternal life. They are protected from the Destroyer for good. No one can steal them from out of my hand. The Father who put them under my care is so much greater than the Destroyer and Thief. No one could ever get them away from him. I and the Father are one heart and mind.”

matthew 28:19 , the word name is in the singular

john ch. 8 where Jesus uses the words I AM

luke 1 :43 , where elizabeth has a visit from the mother of HER LORD

In rev. where jesus utters the words of "I am the alpha and the omega , the first and the last ." at least 3-4 times , these words can only be spoken by god as in Isaiah 41 :4... 44:6 48:12

Thomas to Christ "my Lord and my God ." and bowed down . Jesus did not reprimand him

    Genesis 1:26-27.

    and in Philippians 2:6ff.

    hi there.

just stick with scripture people. all that rubbish may be mildly interesting but scripture is what we go by.

search every scripture that describes who god is and you find

The Father is God (see John 6:27; Ephesians 4:6; 1 Peter 1:2)

The Son is God (see Mark 5:19-20; Luke 8:39; John 20:28)

The Holy Spirit is God (see Luke 4:18; John 14:16-17, 26; Ephesians 4:30)

There is One God (see Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10; 1 Corinthians 8:4)

if a trinity doctrine coincides with scripture, good for trinity doctrine.

if it doesn't - stick with scripture.

you are listed under Unitarian and labelled as arian.

we know from history that Arianism was prevailed over by the gates of hell and so cannot be the true church that jesus began. your doctrines are defeated in history. they are not the truth. resurrecting failed doctrines will not make them true they will always be untrue.

@daddy bob what is with the deliberate misquotes? are you attempting to deceive?

As soon as you learn, Brianiac that Jesus IN HIS FLESH BODY, was not deity but a mortal man and that He knew His Father was God. He, as a human being, obeyed His Father in Heaven in all things, you will understand the Trinity doctrine.. Jesus was returned to His deity at His death on the cross. Jesus, the man, was temporal. Jesus, the Son of God, is spiritual. You conflate the spiritual with the temporal. Until you learn the difference between the two, you'll continue to walk in ignorance.

    .

Since the Bible doesn't teach such a thing as a "Trinity" I don't either.

The Pagan philosophy of a "Three in one God" was tacked on\to the true teaching about Christ a couple hundred years after Jesus and the Apostles had died.

It is part of the "Great Apostasy" that Jesus foretold.

I don't care one whit, but checked out the link out of curiosity, and was pleasantly surprised to find "Relative Identity Theories" listed. I was actually reading about relative identity at the SEP a while back, and it makes a lot of sense. So, I'd go for one of the Relative Identity Theories: They list two, a "Pure" and an "Impure" theory, but I'm not going to read all that stuff now, so I don't know which I'd prefer.
