my room mates lap top has an icon that says network cable not connected, but his computer runs fine, anything to worry about?

if so, how do you fix the problem? thank you.

    If the laptop is connected by WiFi there probably is no cable connected! Its normal in that case.

    If you are connected with Ethernet and working just fine, you must be running Windows! :) You can fix a nonissue but will it gain you anything?
