The ARU sidelined Folau last weekend, was this the right thing to do?
The reports were that he had hadn't fully recovered from his injury, so the ARU pulled him from the Waratahs game. There is now no guarantee he will play next weekend either.
The issue appears more to be how the ARU handled it. They bankroll the sides so they have the right to have players rested.

Over in Nz Blues player Pere Weepu has been picked for this weekends game after playing the first 3 games with a minor stroke !
Is a stroke more dangerous than Israels throat injury ? Apparently the Blues and the NZRU dont think a stroke is that bad.
I think the ARU are wrapping Foalu in cotton wool for the internationals while Weepu is replacable for the ABs,
Shame - the Tahs need Izzy right now.

Let's assume one is concerned with rugby as a game. There are two entities you do not wish have a vote: a) a 25-year-old who has been injured; b) the team's supporters. Neither is in a position to have an informed opinion on a medical matter. You can, and in Western traditions probably should speak with both those parties, explaining yourself. This seems to be where ARU fell down, at leats in speaking with Folau, and probbaly also in communicating effectively with the Tahs, and hence with the supoprters.
A harder question is where do business and sporting decisions get made under the - to be very frank - odd structure of rugby union in the SH. This is one of the downsides of professionalisation of Union: you can't separate the sporting decisions and the business decisions. Spilt milk.
ordinary supporters look at the competition on the pitch and reckon that the teams are really independent entities , even fierce rivals. But professional sport - all over the world - follows the Golden Rule: He who has the gold sets the rules. Didn't used to be this way, but then we didn't have Super Rugby, either.

Because he is the ARU's Rolls Royce atm, they dont want him hurt or badly injured after what he did last season for the Tah's and the Wobblie's. I believe so, imagine if he aggrevated it and was sidelined for a few months, i guess Cheika wouldnt have been too happy, but it was probably the right decision in the long run.
