Head unit installation. xsvi-6522-nav?
I am installing a head unit in a dodge nitro 2008. The guy at bestbuy gave me a interface wiring harness xsvi-6522-nav. What is this exactly? what does it do? And do I have to have it or can I just use a normal wiring harness for 10 bucks. And not this 80 dollar one

You must use it,in newer rides like yours they have many other functions running threw the same harness as your factory stereo,the interface kit keeps all these functions in working order after you remove the factory stereo. To get a better idea on what your getting into check out Youtube in the car audio section,try (installing aftermarket head unit into 2008 dodge nitro) A video is worth a thousand words.good luck with your sound system.
