Fort stockton, Texas.?
So I am moving with my wife and 1yr old daughter to fort stockton, tx from San Diego, Ca and was hoping somebody from fort stockton, lives near or has RECENTLY visited could help answer some questions I have.
1. I recently read in a article that Fort Stockton was #4 on "scariest parts of Texas to live" why would that be?
2. Are there any major laws that differ from California-Texas?
3. Racism in Texas?
4. What is the city like?
5. Is it a good place to live?
6.weather?
7. Jobs?
8. Housing?
Any other information would greatly be appreciated, thank you!

1. next to the Mexican border
2.more freedoms lower taxes in Texas
3.not more than any other place regardless what you hear.
4.small, but not too far from El Paso.
5.not in my opinion
6.hot in the summer, cold in the winter, dry almost all the time.
7.I thought you had a job? If you are moving here without a job you probably will need to get a job in El Paso

Ft. Stockton is in the middle of nowhere. Really like the idea of moving there, because you will be so isolated. The highway from there to San Antonio is perfectly straight. My car would only reach 95 mph that day because of the strong wind. You do know that Texans really drive fast, for a reason. Ft Stockton is far away that driving this fast only makes sense.
