Can you tow a travel trailer with a 6 cylinder Hyundai Sonata, and if so, what is the maximum weight you can tow?

I own a 2004 Hyundai Sonata and would like to buy a small travel trailer, but need to know if I can tow it with my car. My car can be driven as an automatic transmission or manual with a push of the shifter.

Online sources say 1,000 pounds is the maximum towing capacity.

You need to check your owner's manual for this. I sincerely doubt that car can tow much weight.

the short answer is NO. Thats almost as much as the car weighs!!! most unibody (read, not trucks) frame cars can handle 1500lbs or so, and that a lot.

I honestly think you can, but you're going to be getting such low miles per gallon and do t go to big on the trailer
