Europe holiday destinations for the summer?

My family and I are trying to find a suitable holiday destination to visit in the summer. We've been looking into places like Prague, Berlin and Budapest but I was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions?

We're looking for somewhere (preferably):

- Not too hot (as in 30 degrees hot!) but fairly warm

- With good historical monuments

- Not massively expensive, but with good places to shop

Any ideas would be much appreciated! Thank you :)

You'll love it in Spain - the beach resorts are great. Many head for such as Benidorm - here's a webcam overlooking part of the beach.

Here's a map of Benidorm - you can go into street view and look for yourself. Check out the seafront.

In my humble opinion the best part of Benidorm is the Old Town.

You will not find much of Spanish culture in Benidorm since the place is

dominated by the British - many of who actually live there. But if you want it

    you can find it.

If you're looking for historical cultural things I really recommend Rothenburg in Germany!! It's a whole town left from 13th century and it's amazing! Switzerland and Austria is AMAZING, especially the alps in those countries, A lot of old, cultural cvillages, very cozy!! I can recommend a place in Italy too, in the alps by a beautiful lake called Lake Como, it's one of the most beautiful places I have been to. Plus it's in Italy, an amazing country!

Don't go to Budapest! It's an ok city to visit but trust me it's not that much to see or do, very hot and the people are not very nice plus they don't speak english. There is not that much historical things to see either, I was disapointed when I visited.

Prague I heard should be really nice and a lot of historical things to see!! Berlin though is overrated, there are much better places in Germany to visit

Hi! I love Europe! There is so much to do and see, I have two suggestions for you.

One is doing an England, Scotland and Ireland tour. There is a ton to see, no scorching heat and they know the language so that helps.

The other is a cruise (my personal favorite) because you can visit so many more destinations and have the comfort of knowing where you are sleeping and eating everyday plus there are no surprises in terms of cost. Also, if you have kids, they have kid clubs so they can hang with kids their age.

Either way, I would not try book this trip on my own, it is stressful and may end up being more expensive. Also, summer is high season and trust me, you do not want to be stuck in line at the sites. It is a myth that it will be more expensive using a travel agent. On the contrary, an agent is an expert and knows where the deals are and they usually don't charge any fees above what you would have paid going directly with the hotel or cruise line and actually you may be able to get added perks not available otherwise.

I have been travelling for 20 years and have booking people on trips for at least half of that time so trust me, I know. If you need added info or help, I added the link to my agency on the source section.

    Have a great vacation!!!

Berlin has an contemporary mixture of new and traditional structure, dynamic activity, shopping, and a wide selection of sports and social institutions and if you wish to see after that it this hotelbye is the area to start. A few of the points you can see listed below are: the Old Museum, the National Gallery, the Bode Museum, Old National Gallery or, the mark of Germany, the Berlin Wall. That wall began his living in 1961 when East Germany made off the eastern part of the city to base the flooding of refugees from east to west. By the full time it was split down in 1989, the 4 meter large wall and 155 kilometres extended, dissected 55 roads, and possessed 293 remark systems and 57 bunkers. Nowadays, just little extends of the graffiti-covered travesty remain, including a 1.4-kilometer expand preserved within the Berlin Wall Memorial, a chilling note of the animosity that once split Europe.

Budapest has a lot to provide, find out what with hotelbye . Museums and galleries, churches and synagogues, palaces and historic buildings, bathrooms and pools; each one is presented together with the impact of Secession in the city. In Budapest you could have the distinguished emotion that anything from the normal is just around the corner, but what it is likely to be is your responsibility to get out. One of the areas you must see in Budapest is towered over the Danube and may be the Castle Hill. Castel Hill includes many of Budapest's most significant ancient monuments and museums. Also, certainly the most magnificent of these outstanding structures could be the 18th-century Buda Castle, a huge 200-roomed palace that, like a lot of the city, is spectacularly lighted at night.

All roads lead to Rome this year. According to the travel experts at American Express, the canonizations of Pope John XXIII and Pope John Paul II is one reason that Italy will draw more than its usual share of visitors this year. Up to a million people will flood Rome for the April 27 event, with spillover crowds expected throughout the summer. Both popes will be declared saints by Pope Francis during the Vatican celebration.

Who is not aware of the fact that Rome is the epitome of historical beauty!!

Eat like a local by dining in neighbourhood trattorias, where the food is good and prices are reasonable. Save money on hotels by staying outside the city center -- Rome's subway system is easy to navigate.

Prague has been considered as one of the very most wonderful cities on the planet since Middle Ages and you understand maybe not eliminate the opportunity to view it, with hotelbye . Adjectives such as “golden“, “city of one hundred spires“, “the crown of the world“ were caused by Prague and for a reason. The Historic Centre of Prague that's been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1992 and with its 866 hectares is the greatest old town center with this number in the world and this is just one of the lovely places Prague has to offer.

Southern Europe is going to be very warm, it generally is during the summer months. If I were you, I'd look into the Baltic Republics, like Lativa, Lithuania, Estonia.

Spain is the best option you can choose for travel. It is full of beaches and its beautiful culture. Some places are there under your budget. You will get cheap accommodation to live and the atmosphere are too good for travel this time. Have a great fun !

Slightly off the beaten track, not ruined by mass tourism, pittoresque, full of history but still modern enough for tourists to stay: Slovenia and Croatia!
