  • Help with creating a Korean nut allergy card (translation needed)?

I am going on holiday to South Korea but I have a serious allergy of brazil nuts, cashew nuts and pistachio nuts, and I cannot risk having any traces of these otherwise I could go into anaphylaxis.

My Korean is very limited so I was wondering if somebody could help me translate something like the following:

"I have a life-threatening allergy to Brazil nuts, Cashew nuts and Pistachio nuts.

If I eat this food or any food that has touched these products, I will need immediate medical attention.

Does this food contain Brazil nuts, Cashew nuts or Pistachio nuts?"

    Thank you in advance!

  • How to say 'I look forward to meeting you' in French? (letter to a host family)?

I've looked online and come across many options, such as:

    Au plaisir de vous rencontrer

Je suis impatient de vous rencontrer

    Dans l'attente de vous rencontrer

However I'm not too sure which will be more suitable in the context of sending a letter to my future host family. I have never met them, so I don't want to use something too informal, but at the same time I don't know if it would look odd to use a really formal expression...

    Thank you in advance!

  • How do you say "there have been several/some cases of" in French?

I have "il y a eu" so far.

I found that the word case was 'cas', but I can't find the plural! Do the French have another way of saying this?

    Thank you in advance :)

  • Advice on taking up an instrument?

I don't know how to read music and I've never properly learnt an instrument before, but it is something that I have always wanted to do. The problem is that I'm not certain on what instrument to take up (I know that whatever I choose won't be easy and I'm prepared to work hard at it!).

I looked at learning the piano but I have no space to get one (no means of practising). I've also thought about the guitar and maybe the keyboard...

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or advice that anyone has for me :)

  • How to cure my phobia of dogs?

Ever since I can remember, I've been terrified of dogs. When I was little I refused to go to parks or beaches where there would be dogs; I've never personally had a bad experience with them but whenever I see one my heart starts beating really quickly and I start shaking. I cross the road if I see one coming towards me.

A few years ago, I decided to face my fears and visit my friend who had a small puppy. It didn't help. The puppy would try to nip anybody who wanted to pet it and it chased me around the living room (which was really humiliating!).

Now I have another friend who has a puppy and wants to invite me around - I made an excuse when she asked me last time but I can't put this off forever.

She only knows that I'm a 'bit nervous of dogs' and just rolled her eyes at me for it. She keeps talking about how excitable her dog is and how he likes to jump up at everyone - she doesn't do it deliberately but it scares me all the same.

Please give me some advice - this is really embarrassing and it's affecting my everyday life :(

  • Europe holiday destinations for the summer?

My family and I are trying to find a suitable holiday destination to visit in the summer. We've been looking into places like Prague, Berlin and Budapest but I was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions?

    We're looking for somewhere (preferably):

    - Not too hot (as in 30 degrees hot!) but fairly warm

    - With good historical monuments

    - Not massively expensive, but with good places to shop

Any ideas would be much appreciated! Thank you :)

  • Fujitsu keyboard malfunction??

My keyboard and touchpad aren't working (the backspace,'0' doesn't work and most of the letters don't work). Also, it won't let me sign into my Microsoft account, saying "You can't sign into your PC at the moment. Go to account.live to fix the problem, or try the last password you used on this PC."

I went to account.live using another computer and submitted a 'New Account Verification Form' which was refused twice.

I really don't know what to do - I can't get into my laptop.

I spilled a bit of water on it a while ago which might be the cause, but it wasn't that much and I can't be too sure...

Any help or advice would be much appreciated, please!!!!!!!!! Thank you in advance :)

  • I feel really unmotivated?

I'm not exactly unhappy, I just feel so tired and stressed all the time. I have a ton of things (important schoolwork) that I need to do but I can't bring myself to do it. I used to read 3-5 books a week and I loved to write. But now I haven't read a book in months - nothing appeals to me anymore.

I just seem to want to slob around and eat; my grades are going down and I have really important exams coming up. I'm trying to push myself to do more work but I want to give up all the time.

Do you have any tips for me? Thank you in advance.
