What's a good beginners bike for me?
6'6" 280lbs. 34" inseam. I don't want a dual sport bike and I don't want a sportbike. I would like a cruiser style doesn't matter the brand, Harleys are overrated in my opinion. And I'm looking for a price of around 5000.

Honda Shadow
Kawasaki Vulcan
Yamaha V Star
For a guy your size, I would look in the 750cc range as a starter. It is hard to get "too much" power with a cruiser in my opinion, especially if you are on the bigger side. Could probably even go in the 900cc cruiser range.

The Honda Shadow cruiser would be a great bike for you. With it's 750 CC V-Twin engine it will have the torque necessary to carry your weight and will be extremely easy to ride and very dependable. You can find a used one that is in your price range.

Maybe a Suzuki DR-Z400S, it is street legal, but also has the dirt option which allows you to go on to off-road terrains if you want to. It costs around $4000-$5000.

With a budget of $5,000.00 you can't afford any more than a Sportster anyway so you don't have to worry about ending up with any overrated Harley .
The Japps make all sorts of cheap copies of Harleys , you can pick up any one of them cheap .
