Explain opening scene of Jurassic Park?
I'm well aware that this movie is fictional right down to the size of the velociraptors shown in the films. I'm just curious about and particular scene. In the beginning a velociraptor is being moved into an enclosure from a huge metal crate. Somehow this velociraptor is able to push the crate back far enough to create a gap big enough to grab one of the workers. Hopefully you've seen the film and know what I'm talking about. How would the velociraptor achieve this? Did she hit the gate enclosure or the back of the crate and use force to push it back?

Well, they really did not show how she did it, but I just thought that she used her great leg strength while her body was up against the structure of the enclosure. The metal crate seemed heavy, but perhaps being in captivity and all really gave her an adrenalin rush. Caged and cornered animals often can respond in very ferocious manners. In any case, even acknowledging the fictional aspects of the movie, there were some good characters, an inventive story and good special effects.

Read the book. Trust me, it's Michael Crichton, well worth the read and actually more different from the book than you may think. I think it was an error on a worker's part, and it wasn't latched properly. And the raptors have very strong legs.
