Who recommends the series Vampire Academy?

I've only read the first book. I picked it up because I heard a lot of great things about it. I didn't find the book to be all that interesting or stand out at all. I hear the first few books are pretty slow and then the series gets good. So if you're willing to stick out the first few books it's probably worth it. I've heard how awesome it is, so even though I didn't like the first book I might continue with it. If you think it sounds interesting, it's probably worth checking out.
