What is the name of the part a caliper connects to?
I do my own brakes and there is a part I don't know the name of. I drive a 2010 Dodge Journey SXT, anyone know the name of the part the caliper connects to with the 2 caliper mounting bolts? I have to remove this part when changing my rotors.

That's the steering knuckle in most cars, but if it is a separate little bracket in the Journey "You may be right" has a better answer. I had a Honda that required removing the steering knuckle to change the rotor and it was a royal pain. You have to separate the ball joints and the tie rod as well, plus a few other parts. In the FWD Honda I had to remove the drive axle... yuck!
