Hunters and shooters, will you take a commemorative nod tomorrow?

So far as I can tell, 23 April marks the anniversary of America's first gun "buy back program." It didn't turn out quite as expected for General Gage in 1775 Boston, and may it be even worse for today's politicians!

Thank you for that tid-bit. I was not aware of Gen Gage's attempt to buy the guns just before the Revolutionary War.

But I am not surprised to hear it happened. In the past 150 years nearly all gun buy back and gun registration programs have been a prelude to war or ethnic cleansing. Everyone knows about the gun registration program Hitler pushed in 1938 'for the sake of children' but most folks are not aware almost as money people have died in Africa the past 20 years thanks to the UN. I had a Canadian friend who was a UN Peacekeeper in Africa - the UN had just pushed a big gun registration program in the area where he was stationed. Two weeks after completion - the ruling part in power launched an all out war on their unarmed rivals. His job for the next two months? Standing by a small river with a hand counter - counting the nearly hundreds of bodies coming over the waterfall per hour.

A nod; no. But I will share a quick story on a gun buy back from here. Several years ago Ft. Worth tried to hold a gun buy back; it did produce quite a few firearms. The offer was $50 for everyone turned in, the problem was there were a few folks who showed up and would see something in line and make the person an offer of $75 or $100 for it.

Man I wish they'd do that again, that Browning gold trigger Auto 5 was a nice find................

Sorry but, I do NOT celebrate stupidity.

America is far from the America so many fought and died for. The morals, ethics, and honesty is long gone. It ain't coming back either.

We can all remember the patriots, who did fight for our American freedom. And also do NOT forget those who would take even more away when it comes time to vote.

I am honestly worried we are just one flash in the pan, from an American revolution for our freedom, as we have seen in many other countries. A sad day is on the horizon. Just saying, ya know.
