Philippines has the slowest internet in Southeast Asia, how come?

How come we are the worst/slowest internet provider in the whole Southeast Asia, we are left behind by Vietnam who has 13mbps while we are merely 3.6mbps. The highest is Singapore surpassing even the US, who has 61mbps while the US has only 22 mbps. What is wrong with our telecommunication companies who are racking millions of pesos but couldn't provided a better service to the public. Should we change this companies or upgrade our telecom links like those in other Asian cities? What do you think?
If Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia considered the poorest countries in SA can provide a high speed internet service why can't the Philippines do the same? Stefani--sex chat? what is the use of a chat when you want to google or use FB how is that possible without internet, can you explain this one for me? everybody wants to use the internet for information, email and others, what is sex chat for? maybe for you, you like just only sex without even chatting, I want a much speedier internet at home. do you understand the question and are you that dumb? I want speed not sex. although it start with the letter "s" these two are not the same.

your telecom companies there in the Philippines need to upgrade their satellite links in order to have a better reception. like an antenna of a tv. I don't think corruption in the government has anything to do with how your internet is being run, it is the people in the telecom industry that has a say in this matter not the government of the philipines just like what sam said, and we all need the internet unlike what Stefani said that we do not need internet to connect that is why the internet was made for us to connect to the farthest place in the world bec. if we do not need internet I cannot use my account and write this one here. this people have to write clearly what they are talking about.

I dont know why does philippines got the least in internet service but based on experience its quite true. In the philippines you have to pay 50 pesos per day for unlimited internet up to 2mbps which is the maximum not the average. Compared to vietnam i only pay 70,000 vietnam dong per MONTH for unlimited internet, that is about 140 pesos. Take note per month yun and it is faster than smartbro, globe tattoo and the like.

It is all about money. Internet service providers give lower bandwidth to users to be able to accept more subscribers and generate more revenue without spending more for infrastructure. All hardware are imported thus cost more bucks to install. Countries with advanced electronics manufacturing industries like Japan and Korea make thier own hardware enabling ISPs to buy equipment at lower prices making their services more efficient and technologically advanced, meaning faster, cheaper and wider bandwith to process bigger data.

Because Philippines has the most corrupt government officials in Asia. Political officials scammed all the money that are intended for Filipino people.

I didn't know that Switzerland, a neutral country that chooses not to mind others, had any influence in Singapore similar to Spain in the Philippines and France in Vietnam. We are more like the Mexico of Asia, because of our historical similarities. And we both couldn't care less about a country called Spain.
