I've heard he was in the closet. Many homosexuals were married and had families back then no reason he was any different. And there are plenty gay Muslims so his religion wouldn't matter.

There's gossip about him sleeping with men or being bisexual. I don't know if it's legitimate or an attempt to smear him among Muslims who would hate that.

Well you answered incorrectly. What makes you think he was gay? He was a Muslim. I highly doubt he was gay.
