Should I visit New York or Chicago?
Hello nice Americans.
I'm a New Zealander who's heading to Northern Ireland in August and I'll be stopping in America for a few days, but I can't quite decide where in America I want to go.
I was thinking I'd stop in San Fransisco since it's closest to me and I'll need a break after 14.5 hours flying, but after S.F. I don't know. Should I go to Chicago or New York? I don't plan on renting a car, given that you drive on the wrong side of the road, so I'll just be wandering around the city center.

Both Chicago and NYC are great cities with a lot to do and are easy to get around without a car (in fact trying to get around either one with a car is certifiably insane). NY is probably a bit more of a 'you must visit this place before you die' sort of a destination, but either one is well worth visiting. Note that Chicago is probably going to be cheaper.

NYC hands down.
One has to experience it one time in their lifetime
if you have not seen NYC, you have not seen the world.
