PART A:
100 liters / x pints = 4 liters / 7 pints
Cross multiply:
4x = 700
x = 700/4
x = 175 pints
PART B:
60 miles is about 100 km
So 60 mph = 100 km/h
PART C:
Let the 3 numbers be n, n+1, n+2
The sum will be n + n + 1 + n + 2
= 3n + 3
= 3(n + 1)
Obviously if n is odd, then n+1 will be even. The product of an odd (3) and an even (n+1) will be even. In other words, as long as the sequence of 3 consecutive integers starts with an odd number, the sum will be *even* not odd.
Answer:
False, for example 1+2+3 = 6, or 3+4+5 = 12, or 5+6+7 = 18
