What can I do with a non functioning air compressor?

I have a craftsman that broke down I took it to seats for repairs and they want 650 to fix because the engine is shorting out. What can I do with the compressor now since I will not be fixing it?

take it to your local electric motor shop! is it an oilless compressor? if so it sounds right other than labor which im assuming is around 60-70% of the total. not much you can do with the oilless. they generally sell the motor/compressor as a unit. i have found replacement motors through digikey though. they usually cover or remove the makers tags on the motor so you cant bypass them(most all compressor makers) for parts.

if its not oilless, no problem, the motor shop will get you fixed up in a few days usually for a fraction of replacing the motor or compressor.
