Kettlebell exercises for back pain?

I have weak muscles in my lower back and want to start some strengthening exercises. I'm sick of waking up with an aching back every day.

I have a kettle bell that I haven't used yet and I've heard that it would be good for building some strength in my back. The kettle bell I have is only a few kilos in weight so not super heavy.

I'm wondering if I should start off slow with a dead lift squat instead of swinging the thing. I'm almost scared of the swing itself in case I make my back pain worse.

Any tips would be much appreciated.

Update:

I forgot to mention that I put my back out a few months ago lifting something too heavy. Silly I know. I've been going to the chiropractor and getting massage for a while now and I'm doing fairly well. This is why I don't want to put any unnecessary strain on my back after the injury I already had.

It's safe if you use them right. It's pretty much like dumbbells or any other weights in that matter. You can get injured by using any kind of weights if you use them wrong, no matter if they are dumbbells, kettlebells or any other weights. If you will use them correctly you don't have to worry. The exercise behind your head is good. It works your triceps. As far as you handle the weight normally there should not be any problems. 5kg should not be a problem, at least it's not for me. If 5kg is to heavy for you then you MAY get injured. Well, everything damages floor boards. Even your walking or sitting on chair. Kettlebells not gonna be much different. If you are worried about floor just put something below them, like maybe a carpet or something.
