Cannot change my wifi password permanently TP LINK TD-W8901G router?

I have TP LINK TD-W8901G router. I know how to change wifi password and I have done before also by visiting website http://192.168.1.1/ and changing the wifi password.

I can change wifi password, but if I turn router off and then On, it restores all previous settings and even old password. So its useless to change password. And even if I reset the router, it loads automatically with the old wifi password. So the new password and other settings remains active if it is turned on. But mistakenly someone will plug off the wire and problem still exists. What should I do to change it permanently?

First make sure you are not missing a button or link to save changes. Often you can make changes and test them, but there can be a save button hidden off the original page you make those changes. If not, your router is useless, it has no NVRAM storae, and this indicates it is failing.
