My house has a wood burning stove which can heat one large room 18 f = 10 c warmer on the floor than the outside temperature = Much hotter near the ceiling, but that hot a fire requires fuel every half hour, so it produce less than 5% of our heat on the average. A central electric heat pump produces 60 % of the heat needed, but the above ceiling ducts leak so the efficiency is often worse than space heaters, lights, applienses, hot pads and electric throws = half size electric blankets, which produce most of the rest, Sunlight is not much help due to many tall trees that keep their leaves in winter. I live in Jacksonville, Florida, USA.
